Building Something Great for God | Ps Kyle Drost

Praise God. Well, it's good to be back in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Praise God. I won't say who, but somebody in my family told me, first thing I saw them, they said, you put on weight. Praise God. I said, blame Alyssa. She cooks for me three meals a day. Praise God. I told her my body's a temple and I'm believing for a mega church. Praise God. Amen. Praise God.
So good to see so many familiar faces. And if I start thanking people or hugging people, I'll be here presumably until Jesus comes back or the cows come home, whatever happens first. But it's so good to see so many of you. I not only love you, but I at least like half of you. So that's a record praise God but for the last three years or so my wife and I have been pushing the ball forward for the advancement of the gospel in Alaska mostly rural Alaska and which are very very much unreached villages and things like that somebody said to me and they said uh what about Alaska I said well I'll be there next next month doing an eight-day youth conference.
When I say a youth conference, I don't mean like one service a day. The leader of the conference said, we do at least three services a day. He said, are you up to preach them? I said, you got the right guy. Praise God. And so praise God. So we take doors as they open, but we're, we're venturing to plan a church in Southeast North Carolina. How many, how many here are Marines and any Marines in the house? Okay. A few Marines, Praise God. Can we put our hands together for our military this morning? For all the other branches? Unless you're in the Space Force or something. But no, I'm just kidding. Praise God.
But if you know where Camp Lejeune is in Jacksonville in Onslow County, that's actually our house is about 15 minutes from there. And so we're, I don't want to give a testimony before it happens, but we're believing God for our property right now. And so we'll see, we'll see how that transpires. Our family has an act for acquiring property with this thing that not not including money. So I believe that I'm no exception to the rule. We've already had financial real estate miracles happen just in the last six months. So it would be no shock to me for us not just to have one property, but a bunch of properties. And so that's where we see where we're going by faith.
Now, I've been told that you're supposed to talk about the needs of the ministry, but how do I have needs when it's God who supplies? If God starts you, he'll always bring it to completion. That's why I could do things. Now, we're believing for about 100,000 in the next three months, which is God has that in his couch cushions in heaven. So I'm not really concerned. He sent us, so he has to pay the bill. Sometimes I remind the Lord, I know that you sent us, so if you could take care, get a bill in the mail. Hey, Lord, you got mail. Praise God. Yeah. But our partnership giving platform has changed and about half of those have transferred over. And so we're waiting on the other half to transfer over with a deadline on that is the end of this month.
And so, which if you transfer that over today, my wife wrote a book. How many have read my wife's book? Okay. A lot of us here, a lot more people that has sold to places that we've You've never been number one, number two, not to bore you with details, but usually that's her first book. And I wrote a book. It's been eight years at this point, but, and then I'll have another one coming. But the book that she wrote has outsold mine by far, but her book, not only that, they actually had to do a restocking of it because it sold so, so quickly, which is the first I've ever even heard of. And so the company we worked with we had to we had to get a case sent so i want to give away two of those today and who wants to have one okay so if you go out and you buy one today no praise god i want to give one to you there's go which i know if you point to a whole section of chairs everybody thinks it's them but god bless you i'm glad you're here it's good to see you yeah thank you praise god who is on the worship team today, Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. I'm looking for somebody who was on the worship team. Well, that's what they get for not being in church. Praise God. There you go, Ashley. Praise God. Yeah, so you can give that one away. Praise God. Can we give a hand for our worship team today? All the volunteers who make this thing run smoothly.
I want to say hello to my parents, my mom and my dad. And who's that good looking guy on the screen? Look at that. Yeah. Aren't you happy to see how far the media team has come in the last few months? Can we give a hand for the media team? I get to go to a lot of churches, not like attend them, but actually speak at a lot of churches. And it's, this church is in a great spot, a great spot. And thanks to Michael and his team that he's assembled and they have a lot of volunteers. So praise God. Thank God for that. Well, it's Pentecost Sunday. Somebody said to me, they said, what would you do if you you weren't Pentecostal? What would you be if you weren't Pentecostal? I said, I'd be ashamed. I mean that with every fiber of my being too. That's not even a joke. You get to travel to enough places and you see that there's a difference between carrying the power of God and carrying an anointing, which destroys the work of the devil. And then keeping somebody on a preliminary prayer chain or something will keep you in prayer. That is the biggest lie that you've ever been told in church, if you, if you come to me with a need and say, Hey, listen, you know, I've got this thing going. I said, well, let's pray right now for two reasons. Number one, because I believe that we serve, the Bible says we serve a right now God. The second reason, the second reason is if I walk away from that conversation, I'm not praying for you. I, not because I don't like you, but because I won't remember. I don't remember what I didn't have for breakfast this morning, let alone to, you know, keep somebody's like petting prayer or something, you know?
I had a woman come to me in a church one time. She said, would you pray for my cat? I said, I'll pray that it dies. Praise God. I hate cats. I said, but my brother happens to specialize in cat prayer. Praise God. Where was I? Pentecost Sunday. Praise God. The difference between carrying the power of God. See, you have to be a prideful individual to not cling to the power, the presence, and the person of the Holy Spirit. You have to be super prideful because you have to think that you have it all figured out That you have enough wit to get somebody's psychological thing straight that you can solve all things you don't But there is a man named jesus Who is still king of all kings who still holds all power and all authority? And he didn't leave us as orphans But he gave us the power of the holy ghost and he said in john 14 verse 12 the same power hour. The same things you see me do, you shall do and greater. Well, what did Jesus do? He healed the sick. He cast out devils. He freely give as he freely received. That's why I don't pay to hear somebody preach. They didn't pay to hear Jesus preach. I don't have to pay to hear you preach. You're not that good charging a mission at the door. Jesus ran a ministry with no needs. He had a treasurer who stole from him named Judas, and he still had more than enough. So I choose to model our ministry after Christ, not the American model. I've seen enough of that. Not the African model. I've been there. I've seen that. Not the Central and South American model. Been there. I've seen that. Not the European model. Been there and seen that. But I've chosen I've chosen to follow Christ. I've chosen to fix my eyes on Jesus, who is the author and the perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross. And when you do what Jesus said to do, John 14, he said, the same works I do, you shall do in greater. Well, why did he say that? In John 14, he talks about the works that you shall do. In John 15, he talks about abiding in Christ. But in John 16 is about the baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire. Jesus is the baptizer in the Holy Spirit and fire. And the same works that he did, we shall do in Jesus' name. That's why I have the easiest job in the world. Because my job is to do what Jesus did, but he works through me. The Bible says in Colossians 127, part B, Christ in you is the hope of glory. And when you look at what that word glory means, that's not like, well, that's just really nice. No, it's a power that you hold. Jesus on the inside, working on the outside. Oh, what a life it will be. So when you recognize your dependency on God. When you recognize that you carry, the Bible says in the book of Acts, it translates to dunamis power. It's the same word that we get out of Greek for the word dynamite in English. It's dynamite power. Well, dynamite is not just explosive, it's also useful that they use it. I just drove just a short 5,000 miles to get here, and as I drove across Alaska, crossed the border, almost got arrested, but I won't hold against the Mounties. When they get the rubber gloves on, you know it's going to be a bad day. They said, how many guns do you have, sir? I said, all together or on me. I told them my guns are like some voters. Undocumented and no one knows about them, praise God. Half the crowd's happy about that. Praise God anyways. I'm just joking for the FBI agent who has to bear through my sermon today. I'm just, just be happy, Mr. FBI agent, that they relaxed the standards so you can have purple hair and not know what gender you are, but we're praying for you. Praise God.
But when I drove across all those miles, there was sections of, I cut through the Alaska mountain range. I cut through the Northern Rockies. My truck almost died in Chicago, but that's, that's a different story. It's not where you want to hang out in center city Chicago, but anyways, unless you're having church. But when we would go through certain sections of road, even the hills here in PA, when we would go through, there was impenetrable mountains that would stand in the way of what they were trying to accomplish. Well, how did they get rid of those mountains? Dynamite. The same word, dunamis, power. That not only could it move a mountain and become useful and blow things up. I'm a guy, I like to blow things up. I blew up so much tannerite one time in upstate New York. I forget how many pounds it was, but it was a lot. And my in-laws have a lot of, a good amount of acreage. Neighbors came from like a half a mile away to wonder what in the world was going on. But dunamis power is not only explosive power, but it's useful power. And you, you, you look, how can a 7,000 foot mountain that they put a road right through, they move that by dynamite. Jesus didn't say, just take heart and, you know, suck it up, buttercup, until I come back. Just be broke. Just be lost. Not really know what you're doing in life. You know, the world has become professional at soothing people's problems so they can get through life. But Jesus didn't say, I'm going to give you power to get through life. He said, I'll make you more than a conqueror. How can you be more than a conqueror? You've heard me say this before, some of you and some of you not. There's a great theologian. A lot of you guys know I like to read. I like to listen. I like to study. I love it. I love the word of God. There's not a day that goes by that I'm not in the word of God. Studying, a lot of times listening, taking notes. But I love a theologian named Rocky Balboa, who showed me this theological truth so clearly.
When my mom was, not to tell the Drost family secrets, but my mom used to babysit me by watching Rocky, praise God. I remember growing up, she'd put those movies on and Rocky would stand in the rink, the ring, sorry, not a hockey player. He's a boxer. He'd, he'd train. Remember the one where the Russian killed his friend. And so I had this great revelation, praise God. And he killed his friend. So now, now there's death involved and he's over there and he's, he's in the barn and he's doing these. Some of you guys know Rocky more than your Bible is praise God. And he's He's drinking raw eggs. Remember as a kid, I thought, how can you drink a raw egg? You know, I've seen enough eggs laid. You know, I'm not going to drink a raw egg. He's drinking raw eggs. And then he gets into the ring, has those gloves and he goes all these rounds. Eye is all cut and bloody and lip hanging out. And he has the belt and they give him the big check, like $10,000, which in the 80s could actually get you something. Now it'll get you McDonald's, praise God. God, but Adrian, you know, I remember that scene at the zoo and she said, I love you. And she's like, what, what? You know, you like pull her ear muff out the Philadelphia zoo. I love you. You know, don't even get me into Rambo sermon analogies. Praise God. But she would be home in their mansion somewhere in Philadelphia, maybe Ben Salem or something like that. And he would come home with that check that he fought so hard for. He trained so hard to get. He took a beating in his body, bloodied and has the belt on, and he would come home and there she is. And all she did was by proxy of relationship, receive the plunder of the battle. When the Bible says that you're more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ, Jesus waged war on death, hell, and the grave. He took in his body. The the Bible says that by the stripes of Jesus Christ, we are whole. It was prophesied in Isaiah 53, and then it was fulfilled in Matthew 8, and then it was talked about again in 1 Peter 2.24. It was pre, during the life of Christ, and after he ascended. And he gives us the benefits by proxy of sonship and daughterhood of the battle that he won on Calvary. But it doesn't just stop there, because not only did he win the war on the cross, but then he turned to his disciples and he said to Terry in Jerusalem, Jerusalem. Does that mean? It means to wait for the promise of the Holy Ghost. And so then they did. That's why you go to some churches today and they say, well, we don't believe in that anymore. You know, we don't believe in the gifts and the ministries of the Holy Spirit. Okay, but you still believe in the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Has love ceased? Has wisdom ceased? And that's the difference between, you can pretty much write Ichabod over the door. God's glory is no longer there. His power, his presence, and his personhood is no longer honored. What restaurant would you go to and you sit down and you say, well, I'll take the ribeye. Well, actually, that's no longer on the menu. Okay. I had this experience recently. Okay. Do you have any steak? No, we've stopped. We have an impossible steak. I said, impossible. No, thank you. I said, okay, well, what about seafood? seafood well actually our chef just just quit and so he you know we're no longer making seafood you shouldn't get seafood at denny's anyways praise god i said okay well what what do you have, maybe it should be easier to ask some churches today what actually do you believe you no longer believe in healing you no longer believe the four cardinal doctrines of the assemblies of god 1914 14. Jesus Christ is Savior. Jesus Christ is healer. Jesus Christ is baptizer in the Holy Spirit and fire. And Jesus Christ is soon coming King. I don't care who believes it or who doesn't you can shove it. That's what's written. Jesus Christ is the same. Hebrews 13, eight yesterday today and forever. So just because you ate yourself into the grave with a box of Cheetos doesn't mean that Jesus has changed. Making sorry excuses. Sorry, I was going to preach, but my dog actually died. We were going to make a statement, but then I had COVID. It's 2024. Get over yourself. Go preach the gospel. Quit being lazy. Get out of bed and get ready for the race that God has before you. We're Pentecostal. And by that, I mean, we believe the Bible. When has Pentecostal become synonymous with weird or traditional or outdated. The fastest growing churches right now in the world are not any denomination in particular, but they're all full gospel churches. There's a list of 10 churches that they'll produce every year and almost every single year, they're full gospel churches. Why? Because God honors and God will back whatever you stand up for. I had someone come to me recently, they said, you know, the way you preach, you should try to go over to Africa and preach. I said, too late. Well, you know, just, you know, whatever you should go too late because he's the same, no matter where you go, you don't have the same gospel works where it's never been preached that it does in Oklahoma or Fort Worth or somewhere like that, where it's preached continually the same power Romans chapter eight, verse 11. Then I'll get in in my notes. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead, where does it dwell? In us. The same power, not a little bit of power. That's why I don't subscribe to people who say like, well, you know, the anointing of this or the anointing of that. Friend, I have the anointing from Jesus Christ to destroy the works of the devil. What dares stand against you? The Bible says, if God before you, then what can stand
